With the start of a New Year, it’s only fair to start my New Year with a bang, wallop and lots of fitness related jargon so I’ve started a challenge with my Sister to see who can reach their goal weight first? To keep track check it here >> Family Fitness Challenge so that’s all tied in with my New Years Resolution to get insanely fit!!!

Birth of a new blog!!
Wednesday, December 31st, 2008The quietness of dawn…
Tuesday, December 30th, 2008I am not sure whether this qualifies itself as the earliest post since there is many a time I will be up past midnight and still typing away, and yet here I sit – wide awake it would seem, after a somewhat fitful night. A confused husk of man. Denying myself certain fruits has it’s draw-backs and I came face-to-face with that monster last night. A friendship was tested because of it. I can be such a fool at times but one that loses control in the heat of the moment is not me. Never me in fact.
I guess this is proof that I will once and always be the gentleman, and never the scoundrel. It’s a curious thing. The place I find myself this morning, feels hollow and empty; like I realise there is something missing. I just don’t know what that something is? Is it the lack of any meaningful relationship or is it that most basic of human needs? That deep seated lust that drives some men? Is it that wine which makes me so intoxicated?
I need to meditate. I need to find out why now, at 7.26am my mind is so quiet.
Lost.
Christmas Spirit…
Thursday, December 25th, 2008Prize last minute idiot speaking…. that would be me! lol
Here I am enjoying a quiet Christmas Evening in, after spending a rainy Eve out on an emptyish town. Illustrating how many people are actually with family this time of the year, that in itself is a comfort
Friends here are off on their jolly’s – I’ve got on-call duties for a little while; though I am happy with my lot. No grumbles.
Family – no matter how fragemnted and spread out, is indeed still family. My sister is currently in NZ from Hong Kong, whilst parents are back in UK, and my brother and sister-in-law also celebrating in their own way. I am currently trying to find a way of getting to Nelson in South Island to catch up with my sister before New Year…and so we get to the crux; I am struggling to find a suitable mode of transport…ferry is fairly fully booked up, and flight’s are pricey at best at $200+ but I’ll keep trying….if it’s meant to be, then the right way find it’s way to me.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the readers out there, who from time to time share in my life – regardless how boring it is! Have yourselves a Merry Christmas and I hope you all have a safe festive season. Spare a thought for those less fortunate. And think to the future; tomorrow is a new day. Our future lies in the young and the visionary. No matter what else happens tomorrow and the day after the one truth I hold in my heart, is that I love this world, and all of the people in it. My Christmas wish is that somehow everyone can learn to love each other. Not the soppy kind of love, but the universal kind; the type of love inspired in music and poetry. If you are reading this then remember the world is what we make it, that means YOU too! Don’t waste your time here. If you have an ambition, or have always wanted to do something then GO FOR IT!!! It’s never too late to try something new…
Twas the night before the night before the night before Christmas!!
Monday, December 22nd, 2008Sigh!!!
Whilst I have had a relativley good weekend, with awesome company; I did some more carolling at Kirks on Saturday. Then in the evening, I was a little harsh with one lady friend; who apparently wanted ‘more’ than just my company….oops I kinda feel bad but didn’t wanna lead her on….sometimes you just can’t win I guess?
On Sunday I spent a lovelly time with Caroline for a bit of brunch, followed by a wander round J’ville with Rachael to see Santa, and do a bit of shopping.
Today however, is where the goodness temporarily ends! I had my car broken into for a second time in the paid carpark I use in town!!! I have phoned Tournament and I am expecting them to ring back and comfirm I can relocate to a more secure park. In the meantime I have yet another window to repair….not the most auspicious start to the Christmas week I can tell you!!
In other news? I feel drained and tired but philosophical
UPDATE ON CAR:- Ok so I have spoken to car parking firm and they’ve offered me a compromise, a reduced rental on a completley secure car park. So; I’ll see how long it takes to sort that out.
Friendships aren’t just for Christmas, they’re for life!
Tuesday, December 16th, 2008I have a particular friend right now, who is absolutley rock solid. She is always there for me, listens to my crap. Hangs with me, and though she knows me for me; somehow stays being my friend. I am blessed with lots of friends, but somehow she stands out in the crowd. Her heart is in the right place; and she has way more wisdom than her years. She is my guardian angel. My grounding force. Someone who I hope will remain a part of my life for the years ahead.
Meh… I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now… I’m gonna go sleep off my birthday alcohol now, and chill out tomorrow.
Where has the year gone?
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008I have no idea what has happened to this year, or to my weight for that matter, since moving into the city I have lost over half a stone (3Kg’s) and it’s still coming off me, granted I am walking everywhere and out on the town most evenings ‘walking’ and ‘dancing’ and ‘exercising’ (cough) the night away!! It’s all good
Plus at this time of year we tend to wander around the streets with the band to raise much needed money for the coffers.
I’m taking a night off tonight as I have plans in town, and also it’s the National Office Chrimbo Party on Friday so I’ll be off to that then with most of my work colleagues and friends ;p
Monday I will be celebrating the Nth anniversary of my 21st birthday; and will be hitting town early in the afternoon. Then gathering at my apartment for a few drinks. Afterwards we’ll probably head out on the town again! After my birthday week, it’s back to the grind as I will be covering on-call for Christmas week
I can’t grumble to loudly though because I escaped fairly unscathed last Christmas and even managed to get to Hong Kong.
Well, I’m off to go get ready for tonight I hope you are all well and getting into the festive spirit? Until my next blog….
Please Forgive me…
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008It’s been a while….
I feel like I’ve neglected you all, living my 24/7 lifestyle. Sorry!
I’ll post something more substantial once my life slows down to a suitable pace.
