On the off-chance?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Ok first things first, on the outside off-chance that you read this – Michelle Louise Laurie Catherine Fothergill-Carter!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU OLD MUCKA!!!!? Hope some fate of the internet finds a way to get this message to you from little old me in New Zealand ;p

As for me, I am feeling better today than I was in the last couple of days, though I have to admit my traditional Saggitarian ability to be tactless is as honed as ever! (Rachael knows why)…I am now officially on countdown until my 2 week break, where I have lots planned, most of it essential, the clutch in my car will be replaced in readiness for my trip up to Napier (4 hours drive); and also I will no doubt be visiting the dentist again to get some much needed work done – and if you thought it was expensive in the UK, think again!! Had I not got such awesome friends I would have been looking at a bill close to $4,000!

Catch you later, I have a practice to do.

Still Breathing…

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Yes I am still alive! Unfortunatley I have left this blog a little neglected of late – either through social or work distraction. I guess it’s good for me to leave things for a while becuase it gives you lot out there the opportunity to miss me, and speculate about what’s happening in my boring, ordinary and well…plain existence…. ;p

Happy St David’s Day!

Daffodils

Well it’s St David’s day, and I wouldn’t be able to call myself a Davies if I didn’t acknowledge such a day as this! Patron Saint of Wales, he lived between 500-589, though his exact birth date is uncertain; the son of the King of Cerdigion and Non his mother who gave birth on a clifftop during a violent storm! According to Rhygyfarch an author of the 11th Century.

A man who in his lifetime became the founder of many monasteries throughout Wales, Cornwall and Brittany; he taught a simple life, eating only bread with salt and herbs, and water. No meat and no beer! And that one should plough the field themselves without the use of draught animals.

So I guess if you are going to pull you own weight? Today is the day to do it!

‘Gwnewch y pethau bychain mewn bywyd’ – Do the little things in life.

The above phrase which is attributed to St David is something I believe in, as it is the best way to a rich and fruitful life! Just because you have a TV, or a Playstation doesn’t mean you have to used it, if the sun is shining, go out and enjoy the splendour of nature!
