Tuesday, November 17th, 2009It’s been “ages” since I last blogged in detail, I guess this form of blogging has largely become surrogated by my Facebook addiction of late, and in fact that is essentially my blog for the moment. I am not giving up on this blog however; as this holds a lot of memories and sentiment and cannot totally be brushed under the virtual carpet.

Mars fact!!
Tuesday, June 9th, 2009It would appear that this is a favourite every year now, and after a little bit of digging I have confirmed that the fact is Mars will NOT appear as big as the moon this August, and also that it only ever has under the aid of a telescopic view.
Fills in all the gaps for you, just remember if you receive an email in the next few days from a friend about the magnificent views of Mars this August, you can set the record straight; and educate them as to just how guillible they are! (myself included…meh!)
It was indeed a spectacularly close pass for Mars back in 2003; though this was still not close enough to rival our own moon. This year 2009, it is likley to reach 1/60th of the size of the moon – and will be best observed from the Southern Hemisphere (yay for me!!) as the brightest thing in the night skies over the next couple of months 
In other news….I am still fighting off the black plague (fanks Rachael) though it’s my own fault so not after any sympathy…really!! Also Since this is a technical post how about a Geeky joke for you all??
